- Demonstrate a clear understanding of how international food trade can influence nutritional outcomes – positively and negatively – across diverse global contexts. Analyse how trade affects the composition, affordability and accessibility of nutritious foods at national level. Identify and evaluate key policy tools at the intersection of trade and nutrition – including tariffs, non-tariff measures and labelling – that can be leveraged to support healthier diets. Apply critical thinking to assess both the opportunities and risks of trade for nutrition and food systems, especially in vulnerable regions. Apply knowledge to promote policy coherence between trade measures and nutrition and public health objectives in policy planning, design and implementation.
