- Master international regulatory frameworks governing plant exports, including the roles of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement), and advocate for the harmonization of standards to safeguard global agricultural health. Analyse and apply the stages of pest risk analysis (PRA) to ensure agricultural imports meet required phytosanitary standards using risk management principles. Develop market access strategies, create comprehensive proposals and engage stakeholders to ensure transparent and scientifically sound decisions. Facilitate transparent communication and documentation throughout the PRA process, maintain compliance with trade terms and sustain effective international relationships. Adapt phytosanitary measures based on new scientific insights and trade data, propose alternative risk management strategies and ensure ongoing compliance to enhance international trade efficacy.
