Topic outline

This e-learning course has been created in collaboration with the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). It introduces key concepts related to pest reporting, focusing in particular on national reporting system and National reporting obligations (NROs) for reporting the occurrence, outbreak and spread of pests. It will provide practical guidance on what information must be exchanged, responsibilities and receiving entities, plus step-by-step instructions on how to create, publish and update a pest report on the International Phytosanitary Portal (IPP).

This course is aimed at: official IPPC contact points and IPP editors with the right to upload and update pest reports on the IPP, as well as other staff from National Plant Protection Organizations or IPPC contracting parties in charge of exchanging information on new pest detections or changes in pest status.

  • The 13 IPPC NROs, responsibilities and receiving entities for each one.
  • Classifying NROs by method of reporting and type of report.
  • How to create and update a pest report on the IPP to comply with IPPC obligations for pest reporting.
