The National forest inventory (NFI) - Learning journey explains the key phases of an NFI: from planning to implementation and data gathering to reporting. It is based on the eight self-paced courses of the NFI series, which are now reorganized into three separate learning paths that cater to customized learning experiences: "Field data collection", "Sampling and data analysis", and "Data managing and reporting".

This course has been adapted and made available in a self-paced mode to share the content and associated resources that were developed for the NFI online facilitated version, delivered from 11 September to 21 October 2024 in English, Spanish and French.

IMPORTANT: This learning journey enables users to earn three different digital badge(s) upon successfully passing the final test(s) of each path.

It was designed and developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with financing from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
