Topic outline

  • In a world where the great majority of people get their food from markets, agrifood businesses can strongly influence diets and nutrition. In many countries, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) make up the bulk of agrifood businesses, yet there is little awareness and recognition of the role that SMEs play, and few materials to provide them with targeted support. This series addresses the gap by making the business case for leveraging SMEs for nutrition-sensitive food systems and proposing an approach to integrating nutrition into SME business models.

The course series consists of the following two courses:

    Course

Each course concludes with a final test. A digital badge certificate is issued upon successful completion of the test.

Depending on the interest of learners, the self-paced course series can be completed as a whole (which is preferable), or as individual courses (or lessons), taken independently.

Throughout the course series, references are made to specific courses or lessons where certain subjects are covered more extensively. Each course takes the learner step-by-step through the learning content using interactive screens and is complemented by exercises and links to additional material and websites for further reading.
