Voluntary Guidelines on Gender Equality and Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment in the Context of Food Security and Nutrition

This course is primarily intended for:

• Government representatives and policymakers;
• United Nations professionals;
• Civil society members;
• Researchers (international agricultural research institutions);
• Professionals from international and regional financial institutions; and
• Private company managers.

• What the Guidelines are and how they were developed.
• The background, the rationale and core principles behind the Guidelines.
• The main stakeholders addressed by the Guidelines and how they should ensure their implementation and monitoring.
• The nine focus area around which the Guidelines are organized, with supporting data, detailed explanations and relevant case studies for each one.

The course consists of the following two lessons:

• Lesson 1 – Introducing the Guidelines
• Lesson 2 – Understanding the Guidelines’ focus areas

This course runs on the latest versions of the major browsers, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari.
