This e-learning course explores the complex linkages between food trade and nutrition, providing evidence of how trade can affect nutrition by addressing both its benefits and challenges. It examines the intersection of trade policies and nutrition measures to equip policymakers and agrifood sector stakeholders with knowledge and tools to promote healthy diets and strengthen policy coherence between trade and nutrition objectives.
The course content is fully based on The State of Agricultural Commodity Markets 2024, a biennial FAO flagship report that analyses agricultural trade patterns and dynamics within the current policy environment.

The course consists of three lessons of approximately 25-40 minutes duration each:
- Lesson 1: Trade and nutrition: Identifying the linkages
- Lesson 2: Trade in food and nutrients: Food diversity, nutrient supply and food prices
- Lesson 3: Strengthening policy coherence for trade and nutrition
