Topic outline

This e-learning course introduces two complementary systems that support ex situ conservation data management for plant genetic resources for food and agriculture (PGRFA). The first lesson focuses on GRIN-Global Community Edition (GGCE), an internal genebank management system that helps genebanks capture, organize, and use PGRFA data to support consistent workflows and informed decision-making. The second lesson explores Genesys, a global portal that publishes accession-level data from participating providers and enables users to search, interpret, and download information to identify or request germplasm and support broader analysis. The course also emphasizes why data quality and standards are essential for effective data sharing and use.

This course is in the final stages of development and is expected to open for enrolment in April 2026.
