Topic outline

This course explains the importance of disaggregating Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Indicator 6.4.2 at the spatial, temporal and sectoral level, in order to support the design of targeted, evidence-based measures for sustainable water resources management.

It introduces the methodology of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for disaggregating the indicator by hydrological unit and provides guidance on calculating the three main components of the formula used to compute the indicator, by season and by sub-basin.
