The course provides an overview of soil salinization and some strategies to deal with it. In particular, it presents various measures to effectively manage and mitigate the impact of soil salinization on agricultural productivity, including irrigation and drainage, agronomic, chemical, and biological measures.

This course is aimed at a variety of audiences, including:

  • government officials and policy makers;
  • technical advisors in agriculture;
  • agricultural producers;
  • researchers on soil, agronomy and environmental sciences;
  • anyone involved in agricultural activities in saline regions; and
  • anyone interested in sustainable farming and environmental conservation.

This course consists of three lessons of approximately 30-40 minutes duration each:

  • Lesson 1 - Introduction to soil salinization
  • Lesson 2 - Irrigation and drainage measures
  • Lesson 3 - Agronomic, chemical and biological measures
