Topic outline

Workers in inland fisheries and aquaculture routinely face occupational safety and health (OSH) risks associated with demanding work environments, equipment, vessels and aquatic settings.

This course strengthens the capacity of stakeholders to identify, assess and manage OSH risks in inland fisheries, aquaculture and related supply chains. It equips fishery extension officers, labour inspectors, employers and workers with the knowledge and skills to apply OSH principles in practice, supporting safer operations, decent work and more effective enforcement and training. It also contributes to sustainable development goals related to fisheries and aquaculture.
