This course focuses on the role of Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) in the 2030 Agenda follow-up and review process. It aims to provide a quick review of what VNRs do and do not tell us, and what can and needs to be improved.

















This course is designed for all stakeholders involved in the follow-up and review processes of the 2030 Agenda, including civil society, international organizations, the private sector, national human rights institutions, and all levels and sectors of government, to ensure participatory and inclusive engagement.
- The levels of the Follow-up and Review process.
- The role of the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) in the Follow-up and Review architecture.
- The need for Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) to track progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- The current gaps demonstrated by the VNRs.
- The functions of the VNRs in the 2030 Agenda Follow-up and Review process.
This course consists of 5 lessons:
- Lesson 1 - The Follow-up and Review architecture
- Lesson 2 - The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF)
- Lesson 3 - The Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs)
- Lesson 4 - The VNR preparation process
- Lesson 5 - Strengthening VNRs
