This course is aimed at responsible agribusiness coaches who support young agri-entrepreneurs engaged in agricultural investment projects. It presents a methodology and tools for quality accompaniment, based on the Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RAI). The course aims to build the capacity of mentors by covering the basics of responsible investment, the role and specifics of responsible coaching, and the key skills needed to interact effectively with young people. It explores the steps involved in structured coaching, from the assessment of the young person's profile to the creation of his or her personalized operationalization plan, providing practical tools such as the business model aligned with the CSA Principles. Finally, it addresses monitoring and evaluation, which are essential to effective farm management.

This course mainly targets responsible agribusiness coaches supporting young agri-entrepreneurs with agricultural investment projects.

  • The fundamental concepts of responsible investment in agriculture and food systems.
  • The Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems, developed by the Committee on World Food Security (CFS-RAI Principles).
  • The responsible agribusiness coaching approach and its impact on young entrepreneurs.
  • The tools in the toolkit for responsible agribusiness coaching.
  • The implementation and improvement of the monitoring and evaluation system for responsible investment in agriculture and food systems.

The course is organized into 5 lessons of approximately 30 to 50 minutes each:

  • Lesson 1 – Responsible investment in agriculture and food systems and the CFS-RAI Principles
  • Lesson 2 – Coaching structure and the role of the RAI coach
  • Lesson 3 – The interpersonal skills of the RAI coach
  • Lesson 4 – The RAI coach’s toolkit
  • Lesson 5 – The basic concepts of monitoring and evaluation
